Urban Plumbing Poverty
Cities of the Future details a study from Nature Cities about the water insecurity crisis in urban areas throughout the United States, shedding light on the complex issue of “plumbing poverty.” Plumbing poverty describes the growing phenomenon of the lack of clean water that affects people of color in America in a disproportionate manner. Most of those lacking water in 12 of the 15 largest cities in the United States are households of people of color.
