Contaminated Drinking Water

The Silent Spring Institute has found that nearly 100 Million Americans consume drinking water with unregulated contaminants. These contaminates are not included in the 100 that public water systems are required to test for, going wholly undetected in many water supplies. Disproportionately affected by this contamination are communities with high percentages of Hispanic and Black residents and communities closer to areas that release substantial amounts of pollution.
