Reform Charity Care to Serve Communities in Need

Charity healthcare is misused and providers refuse to adhere to their charters, harming the people they are meant to serve. Providers need to push money into the underserved communities and build care centers where they are needed instead of where they can make the most money.

Today, a majority of healthcare resources are directed towards wealthy communities where options are already readily available. Charity care needs to go to at-risk neighborhoods in dire need of reliable healthcare — not new bells and whistles to compete with private hospitals in upscale neighborhoods.

Providers continue to put profit over patients, and underserved individuals are dying because of it.  Reform is needed to achieve true health equity.
